How to Feel Connected and Keep Your Spirits Up While You Stay at Home
When you work from home, you must work harder to maintain your relationships simply because you don’t have the random office interactions that most people take for granted.
Those random meetings help you feel more connected, help you move your projects forward and help you get face time with key influential staffers. When you are quarantined, it is necessary to put a bit more effort to connect with friends and family too.
I’ve been working remotely for almost 10 years and have had lived out of a suitcase for a few years as a sales rep for a Fortune 500 company. I’ll be honest with you; it takes time and effort to cultivate real relationships when you don’t physically see your team.
When you make the effort, you will be rewarded with feelings of connection, support, and less loneliness and isolation. Since the world is dealing with so much uncertainty, we need to de-stress and help each other.
